The following outlines the Advisory Committees and Groups established to assist the Electrotechnology Council:
NECAC (National Electrotechnology Competency Advisory Council) was established to:

be a combined advisory council for the EE-Oz Electrotechnology and Communications Councils |

address the issues that arise because of overlapping skills throughout the sector |

|
assist both Councils in maintaining the relevance of the National Electrotechnology Training Package |

| ♦ |
|
inform and recommend options on Industry, regulatory and VET related and skills development issues |
NETAG (National Electrotechnology Training Advisory Group) is an additional industry and RTO advisory group established by NECAC. NETAG is comprised of State and Territory industry training advisory bodies and RTO representatives, and is responsible for:
1. providing advice and recommendations on technical issues related to the National Electrotechnology Training Package
2. assisting in implementing the Package at local enterprise, community and RTO levels
NETAG meets at least twice a year and has prime carriage over technical and implementation advice on the Package. A set of Protocols adopted by the NECAC assists NETAG management and meeting processes, including the election and role of the Chair.
TACs (Technical Advisory Committees)
Established by NETAG to support its work at specific technical discipline levels covering AQF Certificates I to Advanced Diploma. TACs are responsible for reviewing, developing and advising NETAG on matters of technical discipline content. Membership is open to all persons and practitioners with technical expertise, and all states and territories are represented.
TAC Protocols have been developed to assist each in managing their respective communications and meeting processes including respective Chairs. TACs operate nationally and are generally comprised of practitioners with technical expertise in a discipline.
